About - Debbie’s practice brings together unusual combinations of colour, texture and pattern with a highly developed sense of design and a desire to develop and fully exploit the possibilities of her work. Experimentation, spontaneity and creative development are critical processes within her work. A deeply rooted delight in surface and texture also informs her practice and the aesthetic visual appeal of these aspects of a finished work is especially important to her. Working between art and design, Debbie makes use of an unrestricted range of materials and techniques. She is highly adept at directing, but also responding to, the materials she uses.
Debbie trained at Birmingham Institute of Art & Design at the University of Central England where she gained her MA in Fashion, Textiles and Surface Design in 2001. Before that, she gained her BA in Fashion & Textiles at University College Northampton in 1999.
She now works as a artist and designer in Norfolk, England and is currently working on a series of serigraphs and these are being up loaded to her website regularly.
